What does this page cover?

Harrisson Ford Harrisson Ford Possibly my favourite film of all time is Blade Runner, A Ridley Scott directed science-fiction movie first released in 1982.

This page is designed to provide you with quality links and information on the film (not the game[s]), and add to your enjoyment when you next watch the film.

There are hundreds of Blade Runner resources on the Internet, and this page attempts to point out the better ones that I have encountered. There is not a great deal of original material for me to add to your Blade Runner experience on the Internet, but by using these links, you will at least get a quality introduction to a hopefully long lasting interest in this cult science-fiction classic.

This page has only just been created, and as such is still under heavy construction, so if it looks a bit void of use at the moment, please come back another day and see how its going.

Roy Batty's Final Words:
Roy Batty, the last replicant?
I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die.
Roy Batty (Rutger Hauer), Blade Runner.

So what is the film, Blade Runner, all about?

"Los Angeles in the year 2020. Huge neon advertisements illuminate the night sky above the city's towering skyscrapers. The interiors, however, are murky and dark, the oppressive gloom occasionally relieved by beams of light from a roving spotlight. The majority of Earth's population has left for outer space with only the misfits and decadent sophisticates left behind to populate the planet. Infiltrating this strange, derelict society are four replicants, laboratory-created creatures who are practically indistinguishable from humans - whose job it is to perform menial tasks in outer space, and who are forbidden, on pain of destruction, to set foot on Earth. These replicants have hi-jacked a space-shuttle by killing its crew and are now in Los Angeles passing themselves off as humans. It is up to super-cop Harrison Ford to seek them out and eliminate them before they can eliminate him."

The above is the video inlay text explaining the basic plot of the film. The video cover adds depth to the dark, threatening, futuristic theme of the film.

One thing to keep in mind is that, as seems typical of a Philip K. Dick story, there are many layers to the plot, some becoming more apparent the more times you watch the film. The many sub-plots and discussions over the meaning of the film are best left to the resources given in the links below.
